12.3 Accessories
12.3.1 Headset
Attention :The access to the headset microphone connector on the M740 / M740E / i740 / i740N is
masked by a cover in the shell mould. This cover must be removed before plugging in a
headset on this type of set.
12.3.1.1 Different configurations
There are two possible configurations:
• The headset connected to the headset socket and the handset connected to the handset
socket (3 modes described: handset, manual, automatic).
• The headset connected to the handset socket (only automatic mode is described).

Attention :If the intercom is activated in AUTO or MANUAL headset mode, the set switches to
HANDSET mode. Headset mode for M740, M740E, i740 and i740N sets can only be
programmed by substituting a set with interactive keys.
12.3.1.1.1The headset connected to the headset socket and the handset connected to the
handset socket
Nota : When a call is in progress with the headset, the "supervision" function in headset
mode enables another user to listen to the ongoing call with the handset. The
handset microphone is then disabled. If the handset is hung-up, communication
continues with the headset.
If the headset is physically disconnected during a call with the headset or in group listening mode,
the set switches to hands-free mode.
If the headset is physically disconnected during a supervised or handset call, the set switches to
handset mode.
The red key terminates the call in all cases.
