It takes 1-2 minutes before the phone has started and you get the
log on menu.
•
If your extension number
does not
have an associated PIN code,
the telephone registers to the PBX automatically.
•
If your extension number
has
an associated PIN code, you need to
enter your PIN code.
The reason why you have to enter your PIN code is that otherwise
anybody could power up the telephone and make calls without your
knowledge.
5.5 Restarting
the
Phone
If your phone does not work properly, you can restart it.
To restart the phone, do the following.
1.
Press and hold

Restart the Phone
, and press

The message “Restart the phone?” is displayed.
3.
Press
Yes
to confirm and restart the phone. This may take a few
minutes.

Enter the user id in the field
Log on with
and select
Log on
.

Updating the Phone Software
When new software is available, the message “A new version of the tele-
phone software is available. Update recommended.” appears in the
phone display.
You then have 60 seconds to decide if you want to update the software
to the latest version.

Select
No
to skip the update and keep the current software version.
•
Select
Yes
to start downloading the software update from the soft-
ware server. The update process takes approximately 60 seconds
to complete, and the progress is displayed on screen.

When the update is successful, the phone reboots, and it is
then ready to use, or ready for logon, see 5.1 Starting and
Logging On on page 32.
