Address Range Subnet Mask The subnet mask for this SNMP device range.
Address Range Checking This parameter is used only during IP range discovery.
If you select this parameter (recommended), EMS will
automatically skip over network and broadcast
addresses based on the subnet mask.
NOTE : 3Com recommends this option is set to Yes .
Community String (Read) The SNMP Read Community string for access to the
devices. This should match the
Read Community
string of the devices to be discovered.
Community String (Write) The SNMP Write Community string. This should
match the
Write Community string of the devices to
be discovered.
Discovery Retries The number of times EMS will retry connecting to an
SNMP device. The default is 2.
Discovery Timeout (Seconds) The SNMP time out, in seconds. The default is 2.

SNMP Version The SNMP version number. This is a drop-down menu
with these options:

SNMPv3 Authentication This is a drop-down menu that is only available if the
SNMP Version chosen is v3. These options are

SHA (not supported in this release)
SNMPv3 Context Name For SNMPv3 only, leave this field blank.
SNMPv3 Context Engine ID For SNMPv3 only, enter # .
SNMPv3 Login/Username For SNMPv3 only, enter the user name. The default is
manager for most 3Com SNMP devices.
SNMPv3 Password For SNMPv3 only, enter the password. The default is
manager for most 3Com SNMP devices.
SNMPv3 Privacy Encryption For SNMPv3 only, from the drop-down list, select
none .
NOTE: Authentication with encryption is not
supported for this release.
SNMPv3 Privacy Password Not supported in this release.
