Placing a Call on Hold
Press the Hold key to place a conversation on hold. The phone automatically activates the next
call appearance and provides a dial tone. You must keep the phone off hook to keep the call on
hold. If you place the phone on hook, it will ring to prompt you to continue your conversation.

Making a New Call After Placing a Call on Hold
The phone automatically switches to the new call appearance and provides you with dial tone
when you have a call on hold. To make a new call, dial the number.

Resuming the Conversation
Press the Hold key to resume the call with the person on hold.
7.5.3
Call Toggling
If you have one active call and one call on hold, the toggle key combination changes the state of
each call appearance: the active call is placed on hold while the other call is activated. The toggle
key combination does not work during a conference call.
7.5.4
Transfer
You can transfer a call you made to, or a call you answered from, another person inside or outside
of the enterprise.
To transfer a call:
1.
Ensure that you have only one active call and that call is not on hold.
2.
Press the Transfer key combination (Func and ‘4’).
The phone places the active call on hold, selects the other call appearance, and provides a
dial tone.

Make the call to the phone that will receive the transferred call, as described in section 7.2 on

The ZIP2 plays the busy signal and is disconnected from the call. The call between the other
two parties is completed normally.
7.6
Conference Calls
The ZIP2 allows you to hold a conversation with two other people. A conversation with more
than one person is called a
conference
. This feature is supported on the ZIP2 such that the function
operates on any phone system that supports multiple call appearances to the phone. The ZIP2
supports only one active conference call at a time.
The ZIP2 performs the conference mixing locally on the phone.
