Connect all subscriber stations.
•
If you have IP phones or devices enabled with softphones, connect a LAN switch to an
Ethernet port, then connect the IP phones or devices with softphones to the switch.
•
Connect analog telephones, fax machines, or modems through the
FXS
ports (item 5 of
figure 3-2) or ports on the
FXS
interface card.

Connect voice lines to the PSTN.
•
Connect T1 or E1 circuits through the
PCM
card’s RJ45 connectors. Configure circuit type
and protocol for each circuit using the MX Administrator software.
•
If you have analog PSTN lines, use the telco connector on the
FXO
interface card. Figure
6-3 shows the several options in which you can connect to the PSTN using this connector.
4.
Connect data lines to the IP WAN.
•
Connect the MX250 to T1 or E1 circuits through the RJ45 ports on the
PCM
card.
Configure circuit type and protocol for each circuit using the MX Administrator software.
