6.3.3
Changing the IP Addresses
1.
Select
Provision | System Settings
from the main menu, then click on the
IP Addresses
tab.
Enter the desired IP addresses in the Ethernet LAN section. Press the
Apply
button to save
the panel contents

UI will display panel stating that a reboot is required to save IP address changes. Press
Reboot button to apply changes and restart system.
User Interface will lose connection with the MX250 as it shuts down and then restarts. When
system restarts, it will not be in console mode.
3.
Disconnect the PC from the console port.
4.
Reconfigure PC to obtain TCP/IP address automatically.
5.
Connect PC to the network to which the MX250 will be connected.

Connecting the MX250 to the Networks
6.4.1
Cables Required for Installation
The number and types of cables required for your the system depends on the enabled system
options and your network configuration. Figure 6-2 lists the cables which may be required.
For T1 and E1 circuits, Tx must be wired to Rx. This may require straight or crossover cables.
Warning
To reduce the risk of fire, use only 0.4 mm² (26 AWG) or larger wire for all
telecommunications circuits.
Contact your sales representative for ordering numbers for cables on the MX250.

Refer to figure 3-2 to locate and identify all MX250 ports.
