5. Mounting the MX250
29
4.
Fasten a mounting bracket using two M4x6 screws (58-20002-00) at positions A and B (front
side) or positions C and D (middle of the front side or middle of the rear side installation).
For a rear side installation, fasten the mounting and plastic bracket using two M4x10 screws
(58-2005-00) at positions A and B.
Warning
Use only the M4x10 screws (58-20005-00) to secure the plastic bracket and
mounting bracket for a rear side installation. Use only M4x6 screws (58-20002-00)
to secure the mounting bracket for all other installation configurations. Using a
longer length screw may protrude too far into the chassis and damage the internal
boards. Using a shorter length screw may not securely fasten the mounting bracket
to the chassis and cause the chassis to fall after mounting to the equipment rack.
5.
Repeat step 2 through step 4 for the other side of the chassis.
5.6
Installing the Chassis into the Equipment Rack
1.
Ensure that the two mounting brackets have been fastened to the chassis as described in
2.
Hold the main chassis in place on a 19
"
equipment rack, with the flanges of the mounting
brackets aligned against the holes in the front of the rack.
Warning
You need two people to lift and install the MX250. Grasp the chassis underneath
the lower edge and lift with both hands. To prevent injury, keep your back straight
and lift with your legs, not your back.
3.
While holding the chassis in place, use a hand screwdriver to screw the four 12-24 mounting
screws into place on the flanges.
1
Do not tighten the screws.
4.
Once mounted in position with the screws in place, use a power screwdriver to tighten all
four screws.
1. The MX250 is supplied with four 12-24 mounting (imperial) screws and M6x10 mounting (metric) screws for conven-
tional 19” equipment racks. Use either the 12-24 mounting screws or the M6x10 mounting screws, depending on the
thread pattern of equipment rack.
