Exhaust gases should be returned to the patient
circuit or to a scavenging system.

use a bacteria filter on the exhaust port side if sampled gas is
intended to be re-breathed.

Disposable IRMA airway adapters shall not be
reused. Reuse of the single use adapter can cause cross infection.

Do not use the IRMA Adult/Pediatric airway
adapter with infants as the adapter adds 6 ml dead space to the
