7. When dry, very lightly hand-sand the exterior of the cabinet with 320 grit sandpaper. Ignore the
interior; it’s done. Precisely where the border lies between interior and exterior is up to you. The
finish is thin, so be careful you do not remove the poly and damage the stained wood
underneath. You are trying to strike off the fuzzy grain raised by the finishing process so far. This
sanding should produce a fine white powder that feels soft as velvet to the touch.
