Designation of a CMM
Coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) are designated according to
the size of their measuring range. The range is specified in the X, Y, and
Z axes.
Examples of designations:
Model: 9/12/8
ID no. Measuring range
9 X: 900 mm
12 Y: 1200 mm
8 Z: 800 mm
Type plate
The designation of your CMM is specified on the type plate. The type
plate is attached to the measuring table.
