3.
Press the " hold-down” start button and keep it depressed (fig. le).
4.
Sharpen the chain.
Use:
During sharpening operations, follow these instructions:
1) Place the chain on the guides (see flQ. 6).
2) Turn the chain support through 300 and tighten the lock nut (see fig. 7).
The 30° angle increases the tooth angle for a better quality cut. However, in this case less
material must be removed, since increasing the tooth 's angle also increases its fragility,
leading to greater risk of chain breakage.
3) Set the tooth in line with the abrasive wheel using the adjuster screw (see fig. 8).
4) Tighten the chain slightly using the knob (see fig. 9).
5) Adjust the sharpening depth using the screw provided (see fig .1O).
6) Tighten all the teeth of the same type before turning the chain support to the other side
with the same angle (see figs .ll·12).
7) The chain support position must only be changed with the machine at a standstill.
8) To avoid damaging the chain teeth, remove as little material as possible and do not
work too long on anyone tooth. The maximum amount which can be removed from each
single tooth varies from chain to chain, meaning that this information must be supplied by
the chain's manufacturer (read the instructions supplied by the chain's manufacturer).
Sharpen the depth limiters using a flat file for use on steel (see fig .13).
SAFETY DEVICES
The machine has dual insulation. Connect the machine to an electricity supply system
complaint with the relevant standards.
The machine has a "hold-down" start button to prevent accidental operation. In the event
of replacement, a new button with the same characteristics must be used.
There is a fixed guard on the part of the wheel not used for cutting.
Use of the machine with this guard not fitted is absolutely forbidden. In case of
breakage order spare parts from the manufacturer.
CHANGING THE WHEEL
If the wheel wears beyond the permitted limit (more than 30 mm in diameter) or is
unbalanced, it must be changed.
Use only abrasive wheels compliant with the MPA standards, 100 mm in diameter and
guaranteed for the tool's operating speed when not sharpening (6 ,000 min,1).
1 Plug off the power socket.
2 Unscrew the M8x100 fixing bolt by using the 13mm spanner as Fig 1 to detach the whole
unit from the worktable as Fig 2.
3 Remove the safety guard as Fig 3
4 As Fig 4, insert the stopping bolt into the hole at the bottom of the unit to lock the spindle
and then unscrew the fixing bolt of the guard by using the 13mm spanner as Fig 5.
5 As Fig 5, put the new disk and then the top flange onto the spindle respectively, as Fig
4,stop the spindle by put the bolt into the hole and tighten the nut by use of the 13mm
spanner.
6 Back the guard and tighten the screw M4 10.
7 As Fig 1, fix the whole unit onto the worktable and put the MS 100 screw into the
connection hole and then tighten the nut by using 13mm spanner.
The tools which are needed for chain sharpening and maintenance All sharpening and
maintenance operations require ordinary tools easily available on the market, which are
therefore not supplied.
