Dirt

 Clean w ith 600 grit sandpaper.

2.

M easure:

• com m utator diam eter 

a

Out of specification 

→

 Replace the

starter m otor.

3.

M easure:

• m ica undercut 

a

Out of specification 

→

 Scrape the m ica

to the proper m easurem ent w ith a
hacksaw  blade w hich has been
grounded to fit the com m utator.

NOTE:

The m ica m ust be undercut to ensure
proper operation of the com m utator.
