FRONT WHEEL AND BRAKE DISCS

1. Rem ove:

• balancing w eight(-s)

2. Find:

• front w heel’s heavy spot

a. Place the front w heel on a suitable

balancing stand.

b. Spin the front w heel.

c. When the front w heel stops, put an

“ X

” m ark at the bottom of the w heel.

d. Turn the front w heel 90˚ so that the

“ X

” m ark is positioned as show n.

e. Release the front w heel.

f. When the front w heel stops, put an

“ X

” m ark at the bottom of the w heel.

g. Repeat steps (a) through (d) several

tim es until all the m arks com e to rest
at the sam e spot.

h. The spot w here all the m arks com e to

rest is the front w heel’s heavy spot
“ X” .

• front w heel static balance

a. Install a balancing w eight

onto the

rim exactly opposite the heavy spot
“ X” .

NOTE:

Start w ith the lightest w eight.

b. Turn the front w heel 90˚ so that the

heavy spot is positioned as show n.

c. If the heavy spot does not stay in that

position, install a heavier w eight.

d. Repeat steps (b) and (c) until the front

w heel is balanced.
