2. Check:

• throttle position sensor

(rem oved from  the carburetor)

a. Disconnect the throttle position sen-

sor coupler.

b. Rem ove the throttle position sensor

from  the carburetor.

c. Connect the pocket tester (

Ω

 1k) to

the throttle position sensor.

d. M easure the throttle position sensor

m axim um  resistance.
Out of specification 

→

 Replace the

throttle position sensor.

e. Connect the pocket tester (

Ω

 

×

 1k) to

the throttle position sensor coupler.

f. While slow ly opening the throttle,

check that the throttle position sensor
resistance is w ithin the specified
range.

The resistance does not change or it 
changes abruptly 

→

 Replace the throttle 

position sensor.
The slot is w orn or broken 

→

 Replace 

the throttle position sensor.

NOTE:

Check m ainly that the resistance
changes gradually w hen turning the
throttle, since the readings (from  closed
to w ide-open throttle) m ay differ slightly
from  those specified.
