Connect your video devices and SyncStation to transmit SMPTE timecode as well.
If you have video equipment that uses a 9-pin machine control, connect the video recorder and
SyncStation with a 9-pin D-sub cable. If the machine control uses MMC, connect with a MIDI cable.
Connect the computers and SyncStation with USB cables. Driver installation is discussed later on.
Connect any GPIO-based devices or other equipment as needed.
About Extended System Link
Expanded System Link is SyncStation’s proprietary protocol expanding on Steinberg’s VST System
Link. After connecting a computer running NUENDO with a SyncStation over USB, the Nuage I/O
and SyncStation are connected, and Expanded System Link lets you exchange sample-level position
information between audio (audio system) and video (synchronizer). Expanded system link requires
one digital-signal channel. The SyncStation has two types of 2-channel AES (XLR, BNC), and two
types of S/PDIF (optical, coaxial) interfaces; the Nuage I/O’s VST System Link output uses BNC, so
if you are using AES2, connect one BNC cable.
