In order to sync Nuage to video equipment, the SyncStation will need an input sync signal for video 

(NTSC/PAL/HD). A vide-sync generator is the device that generates this video sync signal 

 

3-7-c. SMPTE timecode generator 

Video equipment runs on timecodes, synchronization signals that include time information, and a 

device that generates SMPTE timecodes such as LTC and VITC and sends video-equipment sync 

signals is a timecode generator. The SyncStation has XLR jacks for timecode I/O, and timecodes are 

calculated based on the NUENDO’s position and sent to video equipment. Also, video equipment 

send timecodes to the SyncStation, and let NUENDO to sync to that.
