Disable software update to prevent automatic updates. Only use operating-system updates that

have been tested by and are officially supported by Yamaha/Steinberg.

Disable Software Update

】

Set up a dedicated hard drive for audio recording, separate from your system hard drive. This

will ensure that audio data read/write operations are more efficient, by avoiding interference

from operating-system read/write operations, and will permit you to record and play back more

tracks simultaneously. Furthermore, if there are any disk problems, having separate system and

audio drives will make it that much easier to replace the drive to recover the system. We

recommend that you install NUENDO on the same drive as the operating system (the system

drive) and use the other drive exclusively for reading and writing audio data, although this is not

strictly necessary.

Disable screensavers, anti-virus software, and firewalls. Background tasks can cause audio

dropouts if they activate unexpectedly (NB: we do not recommend disabling firewalls or

anti-virus software for any computer connected to the Internet).
