3-9. Installing input devices

About mic input

The Nuage’s I/O system does not have a built-in mic preamp, so you cannot plug a mic into it

directly. Use a separate mic preamp. We recommend the Yamaha AD8HR

Nuage V1.1 enables the following parameters for each channel of AD8HR to be remotely controlled

using HA Remote functionality:

+48V on/off

HA Gain

HPF (High Pass Filter) on/off

HPF (High Pass Filter) frequency

Outboard gear

Install any outboard gear that you will want to use for inserts, such as compressors or reverb, in your

rack. If you have a reverb with a remote control, you can install the box in your machine room and

the controller in the control room; if you have a compressor that cannot be run by remote control,

you can install that so that it can be manipulated directly

Miscellaneous

The Nuage Master does have a built-in headphone amp. Headphones are essential when a headphone

is needed for monitoring, or when monitoring and recording both need to happen in the same space

TIPS：

Since AD8HR is an A/D converter and the input signal is converted to AES/EBU digital signal up

to 96kHz, you cannot use Nio500-A16 with it. In that case, please use an Nio500-D16 or

Nio500-8A8D. Also, AD8HR cannot operate at 192kHz so, if Nuage I/O needs to operate at

192kHz, please use an analog mic-pre such as MLA8
