Initial Operation · Removing Packaging Material¦ 27

Remove the toner cartridge by gripping the handle in the middle and pulling it forwards
out of the device

3.

Remove the tape and protective paper, 

but do not remove the protective strip from

the cartridge yet 

.

4.

Shake the new toner cartridge back and forth several times in order to distribute the ton-
er evenly, thereby improving the print quality.

5.

Only after

 completely pull off the protection strip located on the left side of the car-

tridge.

Escaping Toner Dust!

Never open a toner cartridge. If toner dust is released into the air, you should
avoid allowing it to contact your skin and eyes. Do not inhale the released toner
dust. Remove the toner dust from clothing or objects with cold water; hot water
would only cause the toner to set. Never remove loose toner dust with a vacu-
um cleaner.
