VISTA Console
The VISTA console is an IBM-compatible personal computer that allows you
to control print requests and monitor job processing. It is configured as a
server and executive for the DocuPrint 900/1300 printing systems.
VISTA serves as a front-end converter for the printing system. VISTA
receives print data, either Xerox LCDS or IBM AFPDS, from a host via a
network or offline via tape drive. Then, the VISTA software program
converts the print data directly to native printer commands which control the
creation of the raster image.
The VISTA server also monitors and controls the print quality of the print
engines. The graphical interface allows you, as the operator, to adjust the print
quality, and also display the current printer status and other conditions
requiring operator intervention.
When not being used as the VISTA console, a service switch allows you to
monitor the page tracker computer, as well as the print engine computers
inside the print engine card cages.
