Battery Charging Reference
The three automatic stages are:
•
bulk
• absorption
• float
See Figure 35 for a graph of the three-stage charging profile.
There is a fourth stage, equalization, which is initialized manually
as it is only performed occasionally and only on flooded (or wet)
batteries.
The charging cycle is a multi-stage (three-stage) process. Whenever
qualified AC power is present at the inverter’s input, it passes
power through to the connected load and begins charging the
batteries.
