The Y Rod Brackets are designed and 3D Printed to be a snug fit on the 8mm smooth rods
deliberately to ensure that there is no movement or slop in the bracket once assembled. We
have checked these before putting them in your kit however it may be necessary to use an
8mm drill bit to clean the hole to achieve the correct fit.
Place the assembled Y Axis Trolley onto the base of your frame as per the below images and
fasten the brackets to the frame loosely (do not tighten, only fit the screws, they will be
tightened later when setting the final position of the bed trolley and heated bed assembly)
using the M5 X 16mm screws and M5 washers. Pay particular attention to the orientation of
the Bed Trolley and the two small holes in the rear left of the plate as noted with the green
arrow – they will be used later to harness the wiring from the heated bed. Also make sure that
when fitting the Y Axis assembly to the frame, that you use the outer-most sliding nuts. Leave
the sliding nuts between the brackets in place for later use by the Y Motor and Y Idler:
