Create MODBUS Mapping Manually
1. To read the current mapping from the WirelessHART gateway using the web interface, click
Refresh
. If using the DTM to configure the WirelessHART gateway, select the Wire-
lessHART gateway in the project tree and choose
Device > Load from device
.
2. On the
Table
tab, go to the row in the mapping table that contains free input registers that
have not been mapped yet.
3. Click into the
Long Tag
cell and select a device from the drop-down list.
We recommend that you map the values of the WirelessHART gateway on the first registers.
4. Click into the
Value
cell and select a value you want to read.
Note that if you select
CMD 48 Device Status
,
Lower Significant Byte
, or
Most
Significant Byte
, you must enter a response byte as well.
5. After you selected the device and value, press
Enter
to confirm.
The
Register
,
Endregister
,
Card
, and
Channel
values are updated automatically and a
new line for the remaining registers is inserted automatically.
6. Repeat these steps to complete the mapping table.
7. To write the current mapping table to the WirelessHART gateway using the web interface,
click
Apply
. If using the DTM to configure the WirelessHART gateway, select the
WirelessHART gateway in the project tree and choose
Device > Store to device
.
Note that the new mapping is applied immediately and the consistency of the mapping table
is not checked before it is applied.
To export the current mapping table to a CSV file, click
Export
(web interface) resp.
Export
CSV
(DTM).
To load the mapping table from a CSV file, click

For more information on the structure of the CSV file, see chapter 12.3.

table, click the X-sign in the table header.
Caution!
System failure
If you click
Refresh
right after the device was switched on or reset, the system may stop
responding.
If the device was switched on or reset, wait about 1 minute until the boot process is complete
before you click
Refresh
.
Note!
When editing the mapping table, mapping errors or duplicate address allocations are
highlighted in red. These errors must be corrected before you can apply the MODBUS
mapping.
Warnings are highlighted in yellow.
