The D-TEC
®
Safety System (Figure 1-19) is a safety device which:
•
Mounts at the highest point of the mast/payload configuration
•
Provides overhead power line field detection
•
Provides above-the-mast illumination
The D-TEC
®
system automatically stops mast extension when an electric field above the
sensing threshold is detected providing added protection for the operator and equipment from
overhead power line hazards. This unit is intended as a safety tool, and in no way is a substitute
for common sense and caution.
