The Drive Assembly (Figure 1-5) extends and retracts the mast tubes.

Drive Screw 

The mast is driven by a stainless steel, electro-mechanical Drive Screw. Each moving tube (all 
except the Base Tube) has an Extension Nut attached to its bottom which rotates on the Drive 
Screw. 

The Drive Screw: 

•

  Is located in the center of the mast 

•

  Extends and retracts the tubes sequentially as it rotates 

•

  Responds to either input from the Universal Control Box or by manually cranking the 

motor (with all power disconnected)
