5.4.1.
How to clamp the pipes
In case the clamping tools are shut, release the spindle nut and swivel the spindles downwards. Then open
both clamping tools.
Put the pipes inwards into the reducer inserts with the same overhang of appr. 20-50 mm. Close the clamping
tools, then clamp pipes with clamping nuts + pressure discs (chapter: 4.6 / 4.7).
In case of long pipes use WIDOS roller stands for the alignment resp. in case of small clamping tools use
pipe brackets together with the pipe supports (chapter: 4.7.1).
Open the tables, control lever on <backwards>.
5.4.2.
Drag pressure measurement
In case you intend welding with additional cylinder you must now apply the additional cylinder onto the
clamping tools (chapter: ).
Close the machine a little bit with control lever <forwards>. As soon as the machine is starting to move
with the pipes, the drag pressure is shown on the pressure gauge. The drag pressure must be determined
properly since a too high pressure on small pipe diameters leads to incorrect joining forces.
Open the machine, control lever on position <backwards>.
5.4.3.
How to plane the pipes
Noises exceeding 80 dB (A) may occur; during planing it is obligatory to wear ear protection!
Drive planer into machine with button <
> and lock it with locking bolt (A).
Activate planer with rotary switch <
> at the operator console on position “1”.
Close the machine tables with the control handle on position <forwards> and start
planing with a planing pressure between 5 and 25 bar above the motional pressure.
Planing has to continue until a revolving chip is created on both sides.
Then completely open the machine tables, control handle on position <backwards>
and only afterwards stop planer with rotary switch <
> on position “0”.
Unlock planer, pull out locking bolt (A) and drive out planer with button <
>.
Remove created chips, thereby do not touch the prepared surfaces.
