5.3.7.2 Power Transformer Leads
In the following steps, trim the transformer lead lengths so the wires will comfortably reach their
respective terminals. Use the red terminal connectors. After each terminal is attached to a lead,
gently pull on the wire and terminal to make sure a good crimp has been made.
– Connect 300Vac – plate winding. Find one of the two
red
leads from the power
transformer (T6). Install a connector to the wire. Attach to the
300Vac
post on the AM
tuner PWB.
– Connect 300Vac – plate winding. Find the other
red
lead from the power transformer.
Install a connector to the wire. Attach to the
300Vac
post on the AM tuner PWB.
– Connect 600ct – plate winding center tap. Find the
red/yellow
lead from the power
transformer. Install a connector to the wire. Attach to the
600ct
post on the AM tuner
PWB.
The following steps assume a line input voltage of 115 V ac.
– Connect AC-N2 – AC neutral to T6. Find the
white
lead from the power transformer.
Install a connector to the wire. Attach to the
AC-N2
post on the AM tuner PWB.
– Connect AC-H3 – AC hot to T6. Find the
gray
lead from the power transformer. Install a
connector to the wire. Attach to the
AC-H3
post on the AM tuner PWB.
– Connect AC-nc – T6 primary winding for 125V ac input. Find the
black
lead from the
power transformer. Install a connector to the wire. Attach to the
AC-nc
post on the AM
tuner PWB.
– Connect 6Va – 6.3 V heater. Find one of the two
green
leads from power transformer T6.
Install a connector to the wire. Attach to the
6Va
post on the AM tuner PWB.
– Connect 6Vb – 6.3 V heater. Find the other
green
lead from the power transformer. Install
a connector to the wire. Attach to the
6Vb
post on the AM tuner PWB.
– Connect 6Vct – 6.3 V heater center tap. Find the
green/yellow
lead from the power
transformer. Install a connector to the wire. Attach to the
6Vct
post on the left channel
– Connect 5Va – 5 V heater. Find one of the
yellow
leads from the power transformer.
Install a connector to the wire. Attach to the
5Va
post on the AM tuner PWB.
