AM/FM Stereo Tuner
– Replace the standoff removed from the V4 socket. The screws should be finger-tight.
Remember to include the lockwasher on the component side of the board. The heater leads
should straddle the standoff.
– Twist the free wires from pins 5 and 9 together and route to the
H1
and
H2
pads on the
PWB (see Figure 5.2
d
for placement). The wires should be placed at socket-level. Do not
dress the wires against the PWB.
– Trim the wire lengths as needed to comfortably reach the pads on the foil side of the
board. Insert one wire in the H1 position and solder in place. Solder from the component
side of the board. Insert the other wire in the H2 position and solder in place.
