AM/FM Stereo Tuner
– Crimp the other 5-inch wire on pin 9 of V59. Solder, keeping the heat-shrink tubing away
from the hot wires and the soldering iron.
– Cut a 2-inch #22 green heater wire. Slip one end through the heat-shrink tubing on the lead
already connected to pin 4 of V59. Route the wire to the pin and crimp in place. Solder,
keeping the heat-shrink tubing away from the hot wires and the soldering iron.
– Place a piece of heat-shrink tubing on the free end of the 2-inch wire. Connect to pin 5 of
V59. Solder, keeping the heat-shrink tubing away from the hot wires and the soldering
iron.
– Slide the heat-shrink tubing into position at the base of the V59 socket. Apply a stream of
hot air to shrink the tubing over the pins. Be careful to not use too much heat.
– Replace the standoff removed from the V59 socket. The screws should be finger-tight.
Remember to include the lockwasher on the component side of the board. The heater
wires should straddle the standoff.
– Twist the green wires to comfortably reach the V58 socket. Trim the wire lengths if
necessary.
– Place a piece of heat shrink tubing on each wire. Connect one wire to pin 4 of V58 and
connect the other to pin 9 of V58. Do not solder.
