small knob on the shaft. While holding the body of the switch, rotate the knob to find the
correct orientation for the switch. Remove the knob and tighten the mounting nut. After
tightened, replace the knob.
– Using caution to not scratch the finish, tighten the power switch SW1. Do not overtighten,
as the shaft is made of plastic. Reinstall the top push-button switch. Try the switch to
confirm proper operation.
– Tighten the mounting screws on the planetary reduction drives. Do not over-tighten.
Check to confirm that the shafts turn freely.
– Reinstall the red pointers on the two planetary reduction drive shafts. The orientation of
the pointers is not important now (they can face in any direction).
– Install the tuning control knobs. Using an allen wrench, run the set screws out so the knobs
will fit on the shafts of the planetary reduction drives (there are two set screws on each
knob). Place the knobs on the shafts and tighten the set screws.
The front panel components have been installed. The completed front panel is shown in
Figure 5.5.
5.3.2 Back Panel Components
Collect the back panel components, which include the following:
• Barrier strip input terminals (quantity = 2)
• Circuit breaker CB1
• RCA input jacks (quantity = 2)
• AC power connector
• Ground lug hardware
