be (1~3) V
connection point.
b. When the terminal voltage of alternator indicator lamp is
zero, short circuit point may exist at alternator end of
excitation circuit, please test the circuit.
c. When the terminal voltage of alternator indicator lamp is
battery voltage, it indicates that the vehicle excitation
circuit is failure, and the alternator regulator and excitation
diode may be damaged, please correct the excitation circuit
and connect the repaired alternator again.
b. Test if the
voltage of
alternator output
end B+ to earth is
about battery
voltage 24V
a. When the voltage of B+ to earth is zero, test the positive and
negative wires between alternator and battery.
b. When the voltage of B+ to earth is obviously lower than
battery voltage, test the joints of positive and negative wires
from alternator to battery for looseness or battery damage.
Recommended testing method: bridge a 2W indicator lamp
between alternator output B+ and excitation terminal D+/L,
and check its working condition.
Troubleshooting:
a. With normal brightness, the indicator lamp goes out after
starting engine, and alternator output voltage is (27~28.5) V;
vehicle excitation circuit has failed and requires to be
reconditioned.
b. With normal brightness, the indicator lamp does not go out
after starting engine, and alternator output voltage is (27~28.5)
V; alternator regulator has failed and requires to be replaced.
c. With normal brightness, the indicator lamp does not go
out after starting engine, and alternator output voltage is the
same with battery voltage; Alternator regulator, rectifier
bridge, stator and internal wiring may be failure and require
to be repaired or replaced.
(2) Turn on key
switch, but
charging indicator
is not ON
a. Check charging
indicator.
b. Check whether
the excitation
circuit is open-
circuited.
a. Test the voltage of alternator indicator lamp to earth, and
replace the indicator lamp or inspect the circuit if no voltage is
tested.
b. If the voltage can be tested, it indicates that the generator
regulator or rotor has failed, repair or replace the alternator.
(3) Charging
indicator does not
go out when
engine is at idle
speed and does at
high speed.

a. The (2~6) W bulb is recommended or repair the circuit.
b. Adjust the engine idle speed.
