Resetting Z-Wave

® 

Network

Use the following procedure to reset your 

USB Z-Wave

®

 Adapter to factory conditions.

WARNING: If your USB Z-Wave

®

 Adapter 

and Houseport

®

 software are the Primary 

Controller in a network, and you reset your 

USB Z-Wave

®

 Adapter, you will no longer 

be able to add or remove modules from 

your network without recreating the entire 

network.

To reset the USB Z-Wave® Adapter:

1.  To reset the Z-Wave

®

 USB adapter select 

the Reset Network item from the Network 

menu. The confirmation window to the right will 

appear.

Click on the ok button to proceed. All modules, 

scenes, schedules and other network 

information will be removed from the Z-Wave

®

 

USB adapter and Houseport. You are then ready 

to start building up your Z-Wave

®

 network 

again.

NoTe:

 If the USB Z-Wave

®

 adapter is serving 

as a secondary controller, remove it from the 

network by clicking the ReCeIVe UPDATe FRoM 

PRIMARY CoNTRoLLeR link and instructing the 

Primary Controller to remove the USB Z-Wave

®

 

adapter.  This may be referred to as ReMoVe 

DeVICe, ReMoVe CoNTRoLLeR, eXCLUDe 

DeVICe, or eXCLUDe CoNTRoLLeR.

NoTe:

  If you reset your Primary Controller 

before removing all the Z-Wave

®

 modules 

from your network, you must reset each of the 

modules (see “Removing modules from the 

network”, page 15) before adding modules to 
the network again.
