Importing Floor Plan
14
Floor plans are used to
graphically display your home
and the position of your Z-Wave
®
modules in your home so you can
easily visualize your Z-Wave
®
network. Houseport
®
provides
two methods for creating your
floor plan: a) drawing it yourself
(See page 12) and b) importing a
graphically image that has been
scanned or electronically created.
Imported floor plans can modified
for size and transparency.
You might have an electronic copy
of your house plans or a paper
plan that you can have scanned.
Houseport
®
can handle many
different image file formats in the
plan view: JPeg, TIFF, PNg, PDF
and more.
1. Select the
Set Background
item
from the Plan menu. A standard
file window will appear to allow
you to choose the image file for the
plan view. Choose the desired file
and then click open. The selected
image will be placed into the plan
view.
2. The imported image may be
too big or too small for your plan
view. This can easily modified by
choosing the
Adjust Background
item from the Plan menu. A window
will open that allows you to adjust
the plan view image size and
transparency. Move the top slider
left and right to modify the image
size. The contrast of the image
can be modified suit your taste and
make it easier to see the Z-Wave
®
module icons. Move the bottom
slider left and right to modify the
contrast.
3. Click
ok
when you have the
background image set up the way
you want it.
