Symptom

Possible Cause

Action

Board is pulling to the left or
right

Rider may not be centred on board.

Put elbows and knees into recesses in the board padding
and lift yourself gently off the board and back down onto
it.

Board is pulling to the left or
right

Jet drive may be out of alignment.

Contact an Authorised Service Centre who may be able to
loosen drive shaft mounting bolts and realign jet drive.

Board loses some power (but not
all)

Impeller or jet pump may have become
fouled with debris.

Option 1: Turn off and disconnect the battery, get off the
board (in the water) and reach under to clear the debris.
Option 2: Paddle the board to shore (like a surfboard),
turn off and disconnect the battery, turn the board over
and clear the debris.  NEVER WORK ON THE JET WITH THE
POWER ON!

Board drops to 8-10kph, battery
meter showing below 30%

Board has entered reserve mode.

This is a feature.  You’re almost out

of battery and the

board wants to take you back to shore so you don’t need

to paddle!

Board cuts out, battery is mostly
full, ebox upper blue LED is off
but lower red LED is on

The ebox has shut down the board to protect
it.

Reset the battery by turning it off, waiting 10 seconds and
turning it back on.  If the board beeps, wait 10 seconds
and cruise slowly back to shore.  Check that the cooling
lines are flowing.  Contact Wavez.

Board cuts out, battery is mostly
full, all ebox LEDs are off

The battery management system has shut
down the battery.

Turn off and disconnect the battery, paddle to shore (like
a surfboard).  Contact Wavez.

Board cuts out, battery is mostly
empty but not yet on reserve, all
ebox LEDs are off

One or more battery cells may have reduced
capacity.

Reset the battery by turning it off, waiting 10 seconds and
turning it back on.  If the board beeps, wait 10 seconds
and cruise slowly back to shore.  Contact Wavez.

Board has been running on
reserve and has now cut out on
the way back into shore, all LEDs
off

Battery has completely run out of charge.

Do not continue to run the board on reserve mode for
any extended period of time except to come into shore.  If
the time on reserve mode was very short, one or more
battery cells may have reduced capacity, and you should
contact Wavez.

Board is taking on large amounts
of water.

Front or rear hatch may not be closed
properly or have come loose.

Check hatches are closed, close if required, self draining
hull should clear water while board is underway.
DO NOT operate the board for extended periods of time
with excessive amounts of water inside and ensure you
clean the interior of the board extra thoroughly
afterwards.

Board is taking on large amounts
of water

Drain plug may be blocked open by debris.

Return to shore as quickly as possible, allow water to
drain from hull, and attempt to clear any debris in the
drain plug preventing the ball from sealing the plug.
Remove, clean and reinstall drain plug, if required and
tools are available.
DO NOT operate the board for extended periods of time
with excessive amounts of water inside and ensure you
clean the interior of the board extra thoroughly
afterwards.
