5.5 Parameterization Tools
5.5.1 Overview
There are several ways to set the product’s parameters. The following table provides an
overview of the tools.

Tool Description
Controller with EtherCAT
®
Master
The EtherCAT master must be configured to exchange process data with the 765
Series modules.
The WAGO_series765.xml and WAGO_series765_diag.xml device description
files contain the WAGO I/O System Field modules. The configuration software of
the EtherCAT
®
master imports these XML files, and the user can select and param-
eterize a module (or multiple modules) of the 765 Series.
For each of ports X01, X02, ..., the user specifies in the configuration how much
process data the connected IO-Link device transfers, or whether a digital input or
output is connected to the port. The user loads the configuration onto the Ether-
CAT
®
master. The EtherCAT
®
master configures and parameterizes the 765 Series
modules via EtherCAT
®
.
WAGO I/O Field Web-
server The WAGO I/O Field Webserver is a Webserver that is integrated into the 765
Series module. Using a Web browser, the user can view the Web pages and dis-
play and modify parameters.
WAGO I/O Field App The WAGO I/O Field app is an app for mobile devices that can communicate with
a 765 module via Bluetooth
®
. With the app, the user can parameterize the IO-Link
master and the connected IO-Link devices, read and write process data and dis-
play diagnostics.
WAGO IO-Link Configura-
tor WAGO IO-Link Configurator is software for configuring the WAGO IO-Link mas-
ter and the IO-Link devices.
Three domains are distinguished for configuration and parameterization:
1. The EtherCAT configuration : select EtherCAT
®
module
2. The port configuration : IO-Link master (and the amount of IO-Link process data: 1,
2, 4, 8, 16, or 32 bytes), digital input or output.
