EtherCAT
®
uses process data objects (PDO) to transfer process data. Process data is
transferred from the EtherCAT
®
master to the EtherCAT
®
slave with objects 0x1600,
0x1601 etc.; these data objects are called receive PDOs (RxPDOs). Process data is
transferred from the EtherCAT
®
slave to the EtherCAT
®
master with objects 0x1A00,
0x1A01 etc.; these data objects are called send PDOs (TxPDOs).
Input Process Data
The 0765-4203/0100-0000 module uses multiple TxPDOs for transferring input process
data:
• One object 0x1A0x per port with the IO-Link input data or the value of the digital input
• Object 0x1A10 for transferring the digital inputs of all ports
• Object 0x1A11 with status “New Message Available”
• Object 0x18A0 with the status of the IO-Link ports
Input Process Data
The 0765-4203/0100-0000 module uses multiple RxPDOs for transferring output process
data:
• One object 0x160x for each port with the IO-Link output data or the value of the digital
output
• Object 0x1610 for transferring the digital outputs of all ports (pin 2 in each case)
Input Process Data
Objects 0x1A0x:
The content of objects 0x1A00 to 0x1A03 depends on the operating mode settings of the
corresponding ports. Object 0x1A0x contains the port operating modes “IO-Link” and
“Digital input.” The assignment is as follows:
• Object 0x1A00 is assigned to port X01.
• Object 0x1A01 is assigned to port X02.
• Object 0x1A02 is assigned to port X03.
• Object 0x1A03 is assigned to port X04.
Objects 0x1A0x with port operating mode “IO-Link“:
The following table describes the assignment of input process data to port for the “IO-
Link” port operating mode.
