Compressor Lubrication
The HFO10 is built with the industry leading semi-hermetic Bitzer Compact Screw Compressor (CSH). This robust
and energy-efficient compressor requires a special synthetic refrigeration compressor oil to reduce friction, the
Bitzer BSE 170 oil.
When starting and charging the unit, the oil in the sight glass of the compressor crankcase should be watched
carefully for the first hour to ensure that the proper amount of oil is remaining in the crankcase (between the
lines on the sight glass). The oil level may be low on initial start-up if electrical current to the crankcase heater
was interrupted.
