High Head Pressure (Air-Cooled Machines)
Possible Causes
Possible Solutions
Condenser fan(s) not running;
defective motor, fan control
switch, fan contactor, or tripped
fan motor overload
Replace any defective parts. Check condenser fan disconnect for thrown
switch or blown fuse. Replace fuse and reset switch. If the condenser is
split, check the normally open solenoid valve to make sure it is open.
Also check the fan sequencing thermostats and fan motor contactors to
make sure they are functioning properly.
Dirty condenser causing
restricted air flow
Visually inspect condenser and clean as necessary.
Non-condensables (usually air) in
the system
Follow same procedure as specified for removing non-condensable gases
from water-cooled
machines and evacuate the air-cooled condenser as
well.
