SecurPort™ Recovery
Note: For Extended Coax ports, the SecurPort configuration must
be enabled only after the port is under stable use, otherwise, the
behavior of the ports when nothing is connected will lock the port
before the user even starts using the port.
What does SecurPort Recovery do?
The SecurPort Recovery configuration determines if a port’s Tx/Rx ability
is re-enabled during a reboot. In cases where the switch loses power, any
ports configured as SecurPort and are under a “Link Up” state at the time
of the shutdown, will be disabled by the SecurPort functionality. In these
cases, enabling SecurPort Recovery on a port ensures that its Tx/Rx
ability is automatically re-enabled when the switch gets power back.
Otherwise, if SecurPort Recovery on a port is disabled, the switch will not
automatically re-enable the port’s Tx/Rx ability, instead the user will need
to log into the switch’s web interface to manually re-enable the port.
NOTE:
SecurPort only disables the transmit/receive ability of
the port. If configured, the port will still provide PoE.
The switch
does not distinguish between a SecurPort port which was
disabled by a loss of Power, and one which was disabled by a
physical Link Down event, the SecurPort Recovery
configuration will reenable a disabled port regardless of the
circumstances.
