XX091-04-01 Rev 104 AurorAcorD
5. The
Send Time Broadcast
can be set to
Yes
on only one of your AurorAcorDs. This unit will broadcast
the time to the other AurorAcorDs in your system (set their Send Time Broadcast settings to
No
) so that
your units are time synchronized.
6. If this AurorAcorD is your System Bus Controller, select
Yes
. There can be only one controller.
How do I control another AurorAcorD from my AurorAcorD?
Press and hold
ENTER
and then press
MENU
to enter the AurorANet menu. Set the
anetRemoteAddress
to the
address of the AurorAcorD that you will control. Then operate the AurorAcorD as usual, with the operations
resulting in remote instead of local control. The LED next to the
ENTER
key will blink when doing remote
control. Make sure that you do not set the
anetRemoteAddress
of one AurorAcorD to control a second
AurorAcorD and then set the second AurorAcorD to talk to the first AurorAcorD. This would set up a
communications loop. Remember to change the
anetRemoteAddress
back to the address of your AurorAcorD
for local control.
To control one AurorAcorD from another, press and hold
ENTER
and then press
MENU
. Set the
anetRemoteAddress
to the address of the AurorAcorD that you will control from your AurorAcorD.
Note: To avoid operational problems, make sure that you do not create a loop by setting one AurorAcorD to
control a second AurorAcorD and then setting the second AurorAcorD to control the first one.
How do I use a System Console or AurorA2000 Keyboard to control my AurorAcorD?
Because the AurorAcorD is both a multiplexer and a digital recorder, you must set both the VCR and the
AurorA2000 addresses to the address of the AurorAcorD when using a System Console to control the
AurorAcorD. AurorAcorD addresses must be defined in the using the
AddressofthisAcord
setting.
Follow the procedures in Defining VCR Systems and Defining AurorA Systems of System Console Instruction
Manual XX090, using the following table to set the addresses when using an AurorAcorD. Both the VCR and
AurorAcorD must have the same address. For example, if you set the AurorAcorD address to 1 in the
AurorAcorD menu system, then you must set the VCR address to 1. To do this, use the Defining VCR
Systems section of System Console Instruction Manual XX090 to set the “MIU Address” field to 16 and use
the Defining AurorA Systems section to set the “Address” field to A2K-1.

To control an AurorAcorD from an A2K-KBD AurorA2000 Remote Keyboard, you access the More AurorANet
Setup menu (refer to the AurorANet chapter for menu path) and set
AddressofthisAcord

range 1-16. The keyboard will not recognize addresses in the range 17-32.
