10. Repeat these steps to view the video at the various quality settings until the optimal setting is reached.
11. Select the next camera and repeat this procedure to select the appropriate quality setting. Continue until
quality has been set for all cameras.
12. Disable loopback mode from the Setup Record Cameras screen. You may also disable loopback mode
outside the menu system by pressing the
LIVE
key.
13. Return to the Record Control screen and define the Alarm Quality setting. The settings that you viewed
using loopback mode in the steps above may be used to determine which Alarm Quality setting to
choose. For example, alarm video at the Alarm Quality set to Low setting will display with the same
appearance and resolution as the normal video at the Record Camera Quality setting of Low. However,
the quality of normal video may be set per camera while the Alarm Quality is a global setting for all alarm
video.

How do I define how much motion is required before recording takes place?
Note: If Sensitivity is NOT set to Highest, the amount of motion activity in the video field will determine if a
field is recorded or not, which will also affect recording duration and how quickly the hard drive space is
filled. Recording always takes place if Sensitivity is set to Highest, regardless of detected motion.
The sensitivity setting defines how much motion is required before recording takes place. This impacts how
quickly your hard drive space is filled and the available recording time. Perform the following procedure to
make the best sensitivity choices for your system.
1. Select any camera that will have motion in its field of view.
2. Access the Setup Record Cameras screen as shown below.

4. The message “Loopback Mode Active” should display at the top of the screen.
5. Return to the Record Control screen.
6. Set the Sensitivity to Lowest.
7. With motion in the scene, observe the image as the video fields update.
