Inserting/Ejecting a CD or Floppy
Note: Disregard references to floppy disk for model number AurorAcorD AURC-CD320 and AURC-CD500.
To insert a floppy disk, press the eject button on the floppy drive and remove the current disk, if applicable.
Insert the new floppy fully into the floppy disk drive.
To eject a CD, press the CD-RW drive’s eject button or use the Open/Close CDRW Tray feature available on
the CD-RW Disk Functions screen (refer to the menu path in the previous section). Insert the new disk fully
into the drive (you may close the CD-RW tray from the Disk Functions menu or manually).
Archiving
Perform the following procedure to archive (copy data from the hard disk) to CD or to a floppy disk.
Note: Disregard references to floppy disk for model number AurorAcorD AURC-CD320 and AURC-CD500.
1. Access the Disk Functions screen as shown below.

2. Select Floppy Disk Functions or CD-RW Disk Functions from the Disk Functions menu.
3. Make sure the Status is Ready. If the floppy disk already has data written onto it, erase the disk using a
PC. You may erase a CD-RW using the Erase Disk feature on the CDRW Disk Functions screen.
Unformatted CD-RW disks may be prepared for data using the Format Disk function. You cannot erase or
format a CD-R. Use a PC to format the floppy, if necessary.
4. If archiving to a CD, make sure that the record speed is set to the speed that CD supports using the CD
Write Speed field. The AurorAcorD CD drive supports 4x to 16x CD-Rs and 4x to 10x CD-RWs.
5. If archiving to CD, press

to access the Archive Setup line and then press
PLAY
to display the CD-RW
Archive Setup screen. Note that you may also quickly access this screen by pressing
MENU
to exit the
menu system,
MACRO
to display the Macro Selection screen and then by selecting macro 4.
6. Video from all cameras will be archived to the CDRW drive, but for floppy drives you must select the
number of the camera whose video will be archived, using the Camera field
7. If desired, enter the time and date that you wish to start saving the data using the Start and End fields.
Images will be saved until the disk full (or until the stop time is reached for the CD, whichever comes
first).
8. Select Create Archive. For floppy disks, this file may be viewed on a PC (AVI format) with the proper
codec driver installed using Windows
Media Player
or by using the AurorAcorD Floppy Player
software, or on the AurorAcorD (the Select Source field must be set to
Floppy
on the Playback Control
screen). Audio is not available from the floppy. For CD, you may playback the archived images on the
AurorAcorD (the Select Source field must be set to
CDRW
on the Playback Control screen) or on a PC
using the AurorAcorD CD Player software. You may also playback the audio on the CD, if audio is
recorded. The CD is in ISO9660 format that will enable it to be copied by a PC with a CD burner.
