This code is issued free of charge when you install the DVD-ROM, after the product has
been registered on ViaMichelin’s new dedicated Navigation web site. It is sent to the e-
mail address you provide when registering.
We advise you to keep this code so as not to have to repeat the registration process if you
have to reinstall the software from the DVD-ROM on your PC.
You can also access the product registration page on the ViaMichelin web site at the
following address:
http://www.shop.ViaMichelin.fr
then the Product Registration tab
12.3. Connecting ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T to the PC
12.3.1. Connecting

Plug the USB cable mini-connector into the ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T.

Plug the USB connector into your PC.

Turn on ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T If ActiveSync detects the PND, the screen
prompts you not to remove the PND SD card:
12.3.2. ActiveSync
You do not need to establish a partnership to transfer files (e.g. POI) from your PC to the
ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T.
When asked if you want to establish a partnership, select “No” then click “
Next

ActiveSync starts in guest mode (figure 2)
You can now transfer POI files with POI Manager or use the SD Manager card restore
software.
