can plan a route to pass near a town, without leaving the main roads. For example: on a 
route between Soisson and Sens, the system will calculate a journey passing through the 
Ile-de-France. You can specify a stage at Châlons-en-Champagne to establish a new route 
using the A26/E17 motorway.  When I am on the A4 / E17 / E50, all I need to do is to click 
“Next stage” to continue on my journey on the motorway in the direction of Sens, without 
going into Châlons-en-Champagne.

The ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T includes RDS  (Radio Data System) / TMC (Traffic 
Massage Channel) traffic information. As the information is broadcast over the radio, you 
must ensure that the wire antenna is connected to the device for the service to work 
properly (see the installation diagram). 

• 

The traffic information system installed in your ViaMichelin Navigation does not require a 
subscription and operates in the user’s language of origin, even when abroad. 

• 

Traffic information is available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech 
Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, 
Switzerland, United Kingdom. 

• 

The navigation map can be displayed facing north; the position arrow will follow the 
movements of the road relative to a fixed direction, or relative to the navigation axis to 
maintain the direction taken facing the top of the screen. 

• 

If the PC does not detect ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T, connect your USB cable to 
another USB port and check that other peripheral devices connected to the PC’s USB port 
(Web cam, printer, etc.) are not disrupting the connection with the PND.
