14. What to do if…
In this table, we suggest a few answers to frequently asked questions:
How do you perform a
soft reset?
A soft reset restarts your ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T if the
application crashes.
To perform a soft reset, use the stylus to press the "reset"
point on the back of your ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T
device.
Soft reset closes the application and restarts ViaMichelin
Navigation.
Comment:
Only procedures running at the time of the reset may be lost
(e.g. the current route).
How do you perform a
hard reset? Hard reset restores your product to its initial conditions. After
this operation, you will need to reinstall the software.
To do this, simultaneously hold down the volume increase
button (+), the “i” button and the “reset” key (using the
stylus). Keep the three buttons depressed until the scroll bar is
fully green.
Comment:
Before performing a hard reset, we advise you to remove the
SD card. Reinstall it after the hard reset.
The saved items, the POIs installed with POI Manager and the
destinations history are retained. The installation settings
(languages, speed limits, time, etc.) are deleted.
To perform a hard reset, disconnect ViaMichelin Navigation
X-980T from mains power.
What do I do if voice
synthesis appears not to
be working? - Perform a hard reset to reinitialise the voice synthesis
generation engine.
- If this does not work, use “
Content Manager
” to
regenerate the programmes on the SD card.
The device does not
switch on when I press
the “ON/OFF” button: Check that the “Lock” button (on top of the device) is not
engaged. If it is, slide the button to the left to unlock your
ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T.
During navigation, the
voice messages are in
another language: In the Main Menu, go to Options/General/ Language and
select the Voice Guidance language you want.
