SAFETY CONDITIONS SPECIFIC FOR WET/DRY BENCH GRINDER
OPERATION
•
Closely follow the instructions from wet/dry bench grinder manual.
•
Do not use damaged grinding wheels.
•
Use grinding wheels recommended by the manufacturer only, which
are labelled to work with the speed given on the wet/dry bench
grinder rating plate or higher.
•
Adjust spark shield often enough to compensate wear of wheel to the
smallest possible distance between the wheel and the shield, however
not greater than
2
mm.
•
Firmly fix all safety parts to the wet/dry bench grinder.
•
Do not start grinding when there are no safety elements installed (use
shield when grinding).
•
During operation use personal protection measures appropriate for
used machine (glasses or anti-splinter goggles, face shields, earmuff
protectors, protection half-mask, safety shoes, protective gloves and
other pieces of protective clothing).
•
You can proceed only with such type of grinding that the grinding
wheel is designed for (consider limitations of application, safety
regulations and other information).
•
Always unplug the power cord from mains socket before commencing
any activity related to adjustment, maintenance, or grinding wheel
replacement.
•
Always ensure that eye shields attached to bench grinder are correctly
positioned.
•
When the wet/dry bench grinder is not being used, it should be
switched off. Never leave the wet/dry bench grinder unattended if it
is not switched off and the plug is not removed from mains socket.
Never leave the wet/dry bench grinder unattended before grinding
wheels are stopped completely.
•
Do not use grinding wheels with maximum allowable rotational
speed lower than
295
0 rpm or wet grinding wheel with maximum
allowable speed lower than 1
34
rpm.
•
Persons below 1
8

•
Do not leave cloths, pieces of garment, ropes, cords and other similar
objects in proximity of the wet/dry bench grinder.
•
When someone distracts you when you are using the wet/dry bench
grinder, end the operation and switch the wet/dry bench grinder off.
•

properly fastened and secured.
•
Do not over-fasten nuts that fix grinding wheels.
•
Do not use grinding wheel that has been hit, especially side surface.
•
Replace wheel that is cracked or suspected to be damaged.
•
After installation of new grinding wheel always allow it to rotate for few
minutes at full rotational speed prior to operation. During the wet/dry
bench grinder start-up, its operator should stand at side of it.
•
Prior to every start up of the wet/dry bench grinder ensure the
grinding wheels can rotate freely.
•
Do not use the wet/dry bench grinder until all shields are fixed and
secured appropriately.
•
Prior to starting operation ensure tool support is appropriately set.
•
Do not overload the wet/dry bench grinder. Allow the wet/dry bench
grinder to work at full rotational speed or at speed close to maximum.
•
Never apply excessive pressure on grinding wheel. It may crack and
cause operator body injury.
