Configure these settings for LLC-BRG and LLC-RTE modes:

ENCAPSULATION

Options: LLC (F1), VC MUX (F2), AUTO (F3)

Choose the encapsulation method for carrying traffic over AAL

Type 5 over ATM.

• LLC: Logical Link Control based on IEEE standard 802.2. LLC

encapsulation is used when multiple protocol are encapsu-
lated over a single ATM Virtual Connection.

• VC MUX: This is used when only one protocol is carried over

a single ATM Virtual Connection.

• AUTO: Automatically detect the setting.

VPI

Range: 0 through 255

The default is 8, which is a typical Ethernet assignment. Along

with VCI, VPI identifies the next destination of a cell as it moves

through a series of ATM switches on the way to its destination.
The service provider typically assigns VPI.
