Assignment of
the Port to X.21/

The PIN assignment for sockets and connectors on the X.21 ports
are standardized to ensure compatibility of the devices. The con-
nector assignment for the X.21 port is shown below.

Some of these signals are optional. However, the following are
mandatory:
l Transmit: T(a) and T(b)
l Receive: R(a) and R(b)
l Clock: S(a) and S(b).
