the output relay at the remote end is activated when the input is trig-
gered.
Typical applications of the relay output are the activation of electric
door openers or the switching of lights and other electrical devices.
Do not exceed the maximum rating of 24 V / 0.5 A.
Connection to the X.21 Leased
Line
When connecting
VideoJet X.21
to a DCE X.21-TA (data circuit-
terminating equipment) for leased lines, the supplied 15-pole SUB-
D cable (15-pole connector <-> 15-pole connector) must be used.

To do this, connect the 15-pole connector of interface
X.21
to the-
VideoJet X.21

Connect the other end of the connecting cable to port of the DCE
X.21-TA (data circuit-terminating equipment).
Once the
VideoJet X.21
has been connected to the transmis-
sion line it can be powered from the power supply unit. Only use the
power supply unit included in the scope of supply for the power sup-
ply.
The external bit clock required by the
VideoJet X.21
is supplied
by the DCE X.21(data circuit-terminating equipment). The X.21 port
of the
VideoJet X.21
handles differential signals which are
transmitted according to ITU-T recommendation X.27. The
Video-
Jet X.21
synchronizes itself with the external clock and starts to
transmit and receive data through the X.21 port. The X.21 transmis-
sion line must operate in full duplex mode.
