Pin assignment of the PC COM-Port:
The PC interface is generally configured as DTE. Connection is achieved through a
9-pin Sub-D-jack named ‘COM 1-4’, whose standard pin assignment is shown in the
figure above. For specific information, please refer to the hardware description man-
ual of the individual PC.
RS485-Mode
A configuration of the serial interface in ‘RS485’-mode enables the control of several
NetCam units from one single PC or controller with a RS485 interface. For this pur-
pose, all NetCam units and the controller are connected in a bus configuration as de-
picted below. A unit address (ID) is assigned to each NetCam, which is permanently
stored in nonvolatile memory.
